A Day of Endings, Beginnings, and Quiet Milestones

August 25th has always been a date filled with meaning for me.
It’s the day we lost my dear friend and colleague Colin Fry ten years ago — a man whose compassion, humour, and devotion to Spirit touched countless lives.
His passing was a reminder of how fleeting life can feel, but also how eternal love truly is.
What I’ve never spoken about publicly, until now, is that the very same day I also became a minister.
Tomorrow marks ten years of walking that path in service to Spirit.
I made that commitment quietly, not for recognition or title, but from a deep calling in my heart.
Ministry, for me, has always been about being present — sitting with grief, celebrating connections, and walking alongside people as Spirit brings comfort, clarity, and love.
And tomorrow, on this same date that has shaped so much of my journey, I will collect the keys to the new
TJ Higgs Studio.
A fresh chapter. A space for connection, for teaching, for healing, for community.
It feels as though Spirit has aligned this moment perfectly: to honour what has been, to embrace what is, and to step forward into what’s yet to come.
Ten years since Colin left this world.
Ten years since I stepped into ministry.
And tomorrow, the opening of a new door — both literally and spiritually.
I will light a candle for Colin, give thanks for the journey so far, and open the doors of the studio with a heart full of gratitude.
Life has a way of weaving endings and beginnings together, and I know this is only the start of another beautiful chapter.
With love,
TJ Higgs
